It is actually a spring shot. The pond was a sort of tailings pond for effluent from the paper mill in the old days. It's been rehabilitated since there are now houses on the site of the old papermill and it's been mass-planted with dogwood which, over here anyway, is a very common low shrub with either yellow, red or black stems. It's used for winter colour. When it leafs, though, the leaves are intensely green which is what you see above the red stems. That's yellow twigged dogwood to the right.
